KOCHI: district administration efforts to regularise auto rickshaw service in the city have not materialized as a matter of giving permission for this vehicle will be resolved. Although Regional Transport Authority (RTA) has joined hands with auto Union driver for unauthorized book auto rickshaws plying the city without permission, the authorities have failed to list out the driver.
Previous attempts failed, the District Collector Pareeth P I held a meeting Sheik on Friday to discuss the matter with the Police Commissioner of the city and regional transport officer (RTO). "It has been decided to form a team of officials of the police and the regional offices of transport to make a list of the cart cars are operating without permits," said RTO T J Thomas.
Get this data, the District Administration will decide how to regularise these autos. The Administration will soon come up with a plan to standardise the auto fare in the city. The collector has asked the traffic police to give details of the extra distance that the car had to cover my pedicab thanks to the closure of the Northern Railway Overbirdge (ROB).
RTO say that collectors had received a complaint regarding the collection of excess fares by auto rickshaw drivers who operate through counter pre-paid in the South railway station. Tariffs will be fixed in consultation with the auto driver.
However, the Government of the District of sidelined demand drivers say that allows autos on ROB going to sabotage the system traffic.
